This is another nifty IT gadget that also has a name starting with the letter i but it is not made by the apple company.
How it works
Bi-directional sharing of files between any 2 computers that are connected to the internet with no storage limit unlike a regular thumbdrive. This is because nothing is stored in the iTwin but on the harddisks of your comptuers. The iTwin merely serves as a hardware link to connect 2 computers together. The iTwin has a similar concept as Dropbox but the security is better since your personal data is not stored on someone else's server.
The iTwin works in a pair and each one is called a Twin. All you need is to have a Twin plug into each computer to begin. To start, join the Twins together as shown in the first picture above and plug one end into a USB port to pair them. This step also creates an unique encryption key between the Twins for added security and your ready to go. The encrypted data transmission via the internet is also safe from hackers. The manufacturer claims that the whole process is plug and play and it is SOEasy that even a novice in IT can use it without calling any helpdesk.
Lastly, if you lose a Twin, you can disable the link via their website or simply plug the remaining Twin out immediately to break the connection. You can also purchase another Twin of the same colour to pair with the remainder again.
