Japan Earthquake

Watched this news on TV at the ferry terminal on an island resort just off the north eastern coast of Singapore, and I quickly realised the magnitude of the destruction that the quake had left in its wake.

The disaster is still not releasing its deadly grip on the people from the land of the rising sun, with the second nuclear reactor blowing up any moment from now. Haven't the engineers who build the power plant realised that the plant is located on land that is very susceptible to earthquakes? Is there contingency plans made for any doomsday scenario like this? Or is it complacency / oversight on their part given that the power company had a scandalous past?

When I am serving time in the Armed Forces back then, we used to have 2 schools. Our leaders kept saying that the birthrate is falling but how come there are 4 schools now? I do hope Singapore will not consider nuclear power as a source of energy as they try to push our population to 6 million by importing foreign talents. Any accidents caused by human error may just decimate the little red riding dot off the global map!

To whoever that read this post, join me in praying for those who are affected.
